The article deals with the specifics of linguistic and extralinguistic behaviour of people at the moment when they realize that the phone conversation is being held with a computerized digital assistant but not a human. The authors explore the changes that occur in the persons’ speech in terms of their language patterns, speech tempo and the intentional change of the communication strategy.
