The paper describes features of speech and prevailing types of vocabulary, as well as the topical diversity of adolescents’ communication in digital environment, depending on their gender and age group. The results obtained are based on content analysis of data collected from school chats of junior (n = 75 people) and senior (n = 75 people) groups of adolescents. It was found that in the Russian-speaking society there is a general tendency towards “toxically” saturated vocabulary. Such manifestations of linguistic “toxicity” negatively affect the behavioral patterns, causing aggression, provocation, various violations of the human behavioral code, etc., affecting a person studied within the context of a special direction for determining and identifying linguistic means of cyber threats that poses danger to the formation of the personalities of Internet users. The authors conclude that the speech of younger adolescents in the conditions of digital communication is expressive and tends to speech aggression; the speech of older adolescents is neutral or non-judgmental. The gender aspect is manifested in the predominance of positive evaluation vocabulary in girls’ speech.
