The author compares the content of the universal social and political concept «politics» in Russian and Vietnamese linguistic cultures in order to reveal the divergence of semantics of the researched concept. The author refers to the structural research of the words' lexical meaning, and to the data of an associative experiment and an experiment on rating numbers. The author conducts modeling the concept by dividing the data of the experiments into constructs (a word, a concept, a notion, subjective contents, an association, and connotative contents (including emotions, evaluations and expressions)), which represent structural components of the researched concept. The results of modeling demonstrate a significant difference between structural and essential characteristics of the researched concept. In particular, the constructs of the concept «politics» have significant differences in Russian and Vietnamese linguistic cultures: Russian respondents, unlike the Vietnamese, have no construct and evaluative components of the concept and evaluation.
