Abstract

The consequences of mass displacement of the population have made the topic of migration and migration policy the subject of heated discussions at all levels of public life in the European Union. The purpose of the article is to identify linguostylistic devices which are implemented by the EU to form the ideology in the time of migration crisis to harmonise the migration process, lower its spontaneity, on the one hand, and to shape public opinion to prevent conflicts and tension in the society, on the other. The article has proved the relevance and importance of the study of migration discourse in the framework of the policy of the European Union. It has also been shown that the emotionally and stylistically colored words and word combinations used in the EU legal documents serve to shape public opinion towards migrants, migration process and migration crisis.
