The paper presents the findings of a semantic research of Korean lexicon with the initial [N], which forms a phono-semantic system, qualitatively and quantitatively different from the phonetically analogous one in Proto-Indo-European. Having a similar principal of field structuring, the Korean semiogenetic strategy mostly develops the symbolic potencies of a nasal articulation aspect of [N], while PIE focuses on a dental one.
