The subject of the research is the features of the structural and substantive component of the basic value, expressed by the concept «marriage / matrimonio» in the Russian and Italian linguacultures. Text information selection, questionnaires and comparative analysis were used. Using the results of the study we identified several coincident parameters that are included in the associative fields of the analyzed concepts. That shows the similarity of the Russian and Italian mentality.
