The paper deals with the problem of an allusive name, which is seen as a symbol of a cultural value, closely connected with historical past of the country, included in the core of the cognitive base of the Russian linguacultural community, and aimed at forming a specific type of peoples’ integration called nation. It is demonstrated that psychological methods on the whole and the Semantic Universals Method, in particular, could be helpful in research of allusive names. The application of the Method of Semantic Universals in practice confirms that nowadays allusive names associated with the Soviet period of Russian history reduce their integrative function . As a result, the degree of contiguity of value-orientation unity in groups of citizens of Russia that differ in age is declining gradually. The analysis shows that the disagreement in the «weight» of associations in groups with age differences could correlate with the factor of education (modern Russian or Soviet systems of education).
