The main topic of this article is the comparison of the concepts «brak / marriage» and the identification of their role and influence on the Russian and the American linguistic culture. The subject of the research is the features of the structure and dynamics of the concepts within process of rapidly changing social values. The methods were the selection of textual information, questionnaires and comparisons. According to the results of the work, was revealed a decline of the base value in both linguistic cultures, however, there is a difference in reducing its influence among the representatives of the Russian ethnos, in contrast to the Americans.
