The paper sets out to prove that the fast-spreading principles of political correctness and their linguistic representation in English and other world languages have noticeably affected the thematic choice of jokes. The analysis of English jokes featured on a number of YouTube channels has shown that among the most popular jokes are those that concern alcoholism, sex, failed relationships, office work. Previously popular jokes related to racial and ethnic issues are currently viewed as a problem of political correctness.
