Disapproval is a common speech act in present-day Internet communication, and the diversity of its linguistic representation helps significantly expand our understanding of the specifics of the speech act itself, the essence of the evaluation category. The author explores a way to represent disapproval in a speech act, which lies in implicit assessment, when the form of the speech act of disapproval does not contain external markers of denial or evaluation. Conventional and unconventional ways of expressing implicit disapproval are demonstrated on representative linguistic material.
