In the context of the migration crisis in the EU countries, the programs of socio-cultural integration are constantly being reformed; however, there is no positive dynamics in the issues of assimilation of migrants in the host states. The author sets the task of identifying some of the dominant factors for the successful acculturation of migrants, among which an important role is played by the creation of a positive social portrait of migrant, which largely depends on the migrants themselves. According to the hypothesis, one of the key elements of social identity is a pronounced accent which, unlike permanent social markers, can be corrected. The hypothesis is supported by the research data, which leads to the conclusion that it is necessary to take into account scientific research in this area in the issues of optimization of integration programs.
