Abstract

This work is devoted to the study of the internal vocabulary of Russian and German students in the field of environmental discourse on the material of verbal associations and to identify the degree of awareness of young people about global environmental problems. The experiment was conducted among 100 subjects – students of Russian and German universities. All responses received were analyzed and common and different trends among the carriers of the two cultures were identified. An analysis of the results obtained allows us to conclude that young speakers of Russian and German linguistic cultures have largely similar ideas about the environmental problems of our time. For the most part, young people understand the exceptional importance of rational use of natural resources. It should be noted that students from both countries owe their awareness in this area, in particular, to the global trend towards environmental protection.
