Abstract

The authors argue for the possibility of shaping a theoretical and methodological base of migration linguistics based on the fundamental provisions of modern Russian ethnopsycholinguistics. This will allow us to consider the national-cultural variation of the cognitive and communicative aspects of speech activity in the migration process as a factor that significantly and specifically affects the functioning of languages, and the features of speech-meaning generation in two languages in the process of acculturation of migrants. The authors emphasize the role of language as the dominant means of acculturation, change of ethnic identity, self-consciousness of an individual and nation as a whole.
