Abstract

This paper looks into the structural features of the associative field of an abstract noun, which are constructed to the structure of the associative field of an objective noun and the associative fields of other parts of speech. The object of the study is the associative fields of the names of emotions and words of the lexical-semantic group “Compliance with moral rules, moral standards.” The subject of the study is the specific structure of the associative fields of abstract nouns. The purpose of the work is to describe the features of the associative response of our subjects to these stimuli, as well as to determine how this affects the structure and the content of the associative field. The research material includes the associative dictionary and the findings of the association experiments with Russian native speakers aged 17 to 25. The study of associative connections of abstract nouns made it possible to identify six mandatory and three optional slots in the structure of these associative fields.
