Speech perception as a field of psycholinguistic studies in France: retrospective analysis

Abstract

The paper outlines the fundamentals of one of the key avenues of Psycholinguistics which is speech perception. The research material includes papers of French psy-cholinguists and some other specialists in the field who had an impact on the genesis of these problems in French science. The paper describes the origins of the matter and the way modern Psycholinguistics views it. The author also draws attention to some controversial issues related to this field of study.
