Abstract

The paper features the findings of a pilot experiment that aims to reveal the evaluation of the effectiveness of a media text. The experiment is based on the theory of decoding rhetoric, central to which is a rhetorical text type as a mental sample that defines the system of text effectiveness parameters. The map of the rhetorical diagnosis of a text is presented. The proposed experimental technique helps to detect areas of rhetorical risks of the text reducing its impact possibilities. The findings of the experiment include the risks of the pandemic media text-stimulus identified by the respondents associated with the parameters of dialogism, publicity as a demonstration of idiostyle and actionality. The findings were verified using lingua-rhetorical analysis and elements of SEO analysis.
