The article is focused on identification of cognitive-pragmatic mechanisms in the production of paradoxical judgments by modern figures of culture and art in the process of their interviewing. The research object is the discursive practice of expressing the opinion of the elite media personality about various facts of culture in the form of paradox. The aim is to study paradoxical utterance as a product of the work of linguistic consciousness and discursive practice and to identify the mechanisms of its implementation in the public discourse.
