The article describes metaphorical landscape of destructive interpersonal relations in modern English-language discourse, establishes the main metaphorical models that conceptualize this phenomenon, and determines the degree of their frequency. Sixteen personal memoirs, in which 58 representative examples of metaphors were selected, constitute the empirical base of this study.
