The review deals with the theme of cultural codes, which are one of the central concepts in linguаculturology. Cultural codes actualize interconnections between the system of symbols and images imprinted in language, on the one hand, and spheres of the world, on the other. Phraseology and paremia of the Russian, English and Dutch languages let the researches elucidate universal vs. specific features of verbal symbols and stereotypes constructed by means of cultural codes. They also prove the dynamic character of the process.
